My Dong

What is that coming out of my jeans?  Well, in honor of Congressman Anthony WeinerI decided to post a photo of my dong.

In this case, my dong is a Fong Dong.  Its a photography flash diffuser by Gary Fong

Sure my dong is flashier than the Congressman’s.   The key point us the flash that powers my ding is bright.  The man that controls that other one? Not so much.

Spinning Shoes

June 7, 2011

So much sweat generated, but not an inch in distance traveled.  While wearing these shoes two things are constant: the calorie burn and the view.

These are my Spinning shoes. They have but one purpose, yet they affect my entire life.

Today was the second day of our shooting schedule for “Textually Active”.  I didn’t get a lot of pics, but a few of the ladies found their way into the lens of my phone.

Mara Marini is rocking the SingleTease t-shirt. She loves pink and it loves her back.

Is that my producer, Andria texting?  What exactly is Gabriela, the makeup artist doing?

The last pic shows Jesse’s “gun show” next to Steff checking something out past the light. We are shooting at her business, Stormmaker Productions, so I hope we didn’t break something.

Checking In

May 14, 2011

Thumba_2011-05-14_23-45-10

This morning I went on a hike with a SingularCity group.  We did the Hollyridge Trail up to the Hollywood sign.

Here are Kristin and Tamera who own SingleTease.  They, like me, weren’t very disconnected while on the trail.  Actually, most people were taking pictures and checking in with Facebook or Foursquare.
In somewhat related news, I now guest write for SingleTease.  Read my first posting HERE.

I went to Saddle Ranch to secure the venue for the ole BirthDALY and short film screening.  Andria and I had a monster appetizer platter and a couple of drinks.  Much to our surprise a mountain of cotton candy found its way to our table.  We didn’t just eat it, we played with it.Sent from my Windows Phone

Swag

May 9, 2011

Thumba_2011-05-09_22-26-05
A great event can be made epic with a good “swag” bag. The Santa Catalina Film Festival did not disappoint.

Some highlights:
•Bottle of event labeled wine. I’m not sure what kind of wine it is so I might just leave it unopened.
•T-Shirt. Love a good tee
•Book by the Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos. They sell shoes, right? I can’t open this book to read what’s inside b/c feet are inside of shoes and, well…gross.
•MyGallons.com free year membership. It’s basically a personal consumption futures speculation market for gas. You buy now and lock in the price.
•Passion Peel Off. That’s right, I’m gonna use the mask the day before the big short film shoot this weekend. Whoop.
•Planet laundry detergent sample. You know the stuff that you want to try but you’re not sure if it works well or not.  I’ll let you know.
•Eclore Fresh Flower & Herb Soap. I won’t just be clean; I’ll be fancy clean.
•Recycled wine cork products. 6 Coasters & 6 Wine charms. If you’re going to get drunk, you might as well be green about it.
•MACONDO CD. I think it’s some Euro pop group.
•Some girly stuff. Eye liner and some Victoria Secret body spray. I think I’ll keep those in my bathroom to make the ladies jealous.
•Powermat Dual 1200 rechargeable backup battery. This is really cool and will allows to recharge my phone when away from power sources.

This is all good stuff, but nothing can compare to the experiences and relationships forged at the festival.  Well, maybe the charger can. :)

Festival Stormmaker

This past weekend was a weekend of amazing firsts for me:

  • I attended my first film festival.
  • It was the first time that I was on my friends’ boat, “The Storm Maker III”
  • It was my first trip to Catalina Island.
It was such a great weekend as I’m sure you read about since I know the entire world reads my blogs.  What?  You missed one or more?  Well, get to reading, my friends.
.
The Santa Catalina Film Festival was a great time and I loved the island.  The biggest treat is getting to work and play with the friends that I’m fortunate enough to have in my life.
.
Storm Maker III- I’ve known The McCinnis’ for years, but we’ve never spent this much time together and they are great.  We rode over from San Pedro to Catalina on their boat.  It’s a beautiful old boat (pictured here) that was constructed in 1969.  We also had a pretty outstanding festival ending party on the boat.  If networking and fun on the water was the goal, then mission accomplished.
.
Stormmaker Productions – My friends Steffanie Siebrand and Jason Wissinger named their production company after the boat they’ve been playing on for years.  As you might know, I’ve done work for them for a long time and they are my CaliFam so a good time was built in.  We also got some work in shooting the festival and positioning the company for more work in the future.
.
We made things happen. We made storms happen.

Fit 2 Go

May 4, 2011

Thumba_2011-05-04_23-32-04
I am up late doing laundry and packing to head out to Catalina in the morning.  I’m working with my friends at Stormmaker Productions, shooting footage of the events and interviews.

I am also packing up some fitness to take with me.  Just because I will miss about a weeks worth of Spinning, doesn’t mean that I won’t sweat.  I assume there will be good running/hiking, so I’ll bring the shoes.  I’ll also get some resistance with the bands to go along with pushups and ab work.

While watching the movies at the fest, I’ll be in training to star in my own next weekend. :)

Studio Religion

I went to my friend’s studio apartment and saw these candles.  She’s not what I call overly religious, so I asked about them. She said “oh, those were 3 for 99¢ at the 99¢ store.”. I guess candles are sometimes just candles.

Fire Lit

May 2, 2011

Here is a shot from RPM Fitness Studio.  I decided to use the candle to represent the urgency that spring causes.  These people are motivated to get fit for summer.

I have that same fire lit in me.  It also burns to get me moving on my chosen career goals.  We are planning one shoot in the very near future and writing even more stuff.  So I guess the fitness candle better burn me into on-camera shape.

Stay tuned.
